Attendees can make new family discoveries, hear from incredible main-stage speakers, and learn all about genealogy and family history. RELATIVES AT ROOTSTECH 2026 GLOBAL EXPERIENCE

RootsTech is a great place to learn about ancestors and find living relatives. In 2025, hundreds of thousands of participants connected with relatives and viewed millions of ancestral relationships through Relatives at RootsTech. Over 300,000 participants have already used the Relatives at RootsTech feature on their mobile phone since February 13 to see if they are related to other participants worldwide, explore their Family Tree, and connect with relatives. The free discovery experience will be available until 30 April 2026.

ROOTSTECH EXPO HALL

The virtual RootsTech Expo Hall is an extension of the vibrant in-person expo hall in Salt Lake City, Utah. The virtual expo hall enables online participants to enjoy many of the in-person benefits. It will feature top deals from in-person exhibitors, downloadable resources, product demos, and interactive chat. The virtual expo hall will remain available through late summer of 2026.

FAMILY DISCOVERY DAY 2026

The free Family Discovery Day at RootsTech will be held on 7 March 2026, in the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City, and the two mainstage speakers will be broadcast live online for free. American football legend Steve Young will speak at 11:00 a.m. (MST) and share stories about his life and family. Family Discovery Day keynotes will be available both in person and online. Participants will enjoy a full day of free interactive activities, games, classes, and discoveries. For Latter-day Saints, Elder Ronald A. Rasband of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and his wife, Sister Melanie Rasband, will speak at 1:30 p.m. MST about coming unto Christ by uniting families for eternity.
